A Ukrainian train with HIMARS missiles and uranium ammunition was destroyed in a night strike

At night, a complex attack was carried out on military installations located in the Khmelnitsky region of Ukraine. One of the key targets affected was the 47th ammunition storage arsenal (military unit A1358).

At the time of the strike, new types of weapons provided to Ukraine by Western partners were being unloaded on the territory of the said arsenal. According to available information, among the destroyed weapons were missiles for the HIMARS MLRS, as well as tank rounds containing uranium.

Having analyzed the circumstances of the incident, experts came to the conclusion that the decision to carry out this strike was made on an emergency basis. The goal was probably to hit the military personnel precisely during the unloading, which was carried out in the strictest secrecy. This operational decision underscores the complexity of the task: given that the ammunition was stored in reinforced underground structures, the use of even air-launched missiles could be ineffective.
